It’s time to recognize the December Rapid Fired Pizza December Athletes of the month! Congratulations to AJ Eller and Malerie Ross of Brookville High School! AJ and Malerie will be receiving a gift card and winners certificate courtesy of Rapid Fired Pizza!

Malerie Ross – Basketball – Brookville
Continual hard work in the classroom and in the gym. Malerie is leading our team stats, 4th in the league in blocks, been on varsity Since she was a freshmen (currently starting), and takes college courses along with her normal high school class load. She is a humble leader with a big presence on the court. Malerie is a 6’1” sophomore that just had a career high scoring game against a conference team (Oakwood) with 21 points, 13 rebounds and 3 blocks on 12/14/19, which gave her, her first double-double of the year!

AJ Eller – Basketball – Brookville
AJ Eller is averaging 16.7 points per game. Has scored in double figures 5 of our first 6 games, with season high 27 on December 13th vs Middletown Madison.

Female :
Anna Long – Basketball – Miamisburg
Sophomore guard, Anna Long leads the team in scoring with 15.4 points per game. She ranks 6th overall in the GWOC in scoring. She has scored a career high 23 points twice this season in games with West Carrollton and Lebanon. She is a relentless worker that also averages 4 rebounds and 3 assists per game. Anna also represents Miamisburg as a scholar athlete with a 3.8 GPA.

Ciara Lawson – Swimming – Trotwood-Madison
She’s works hard everyday and wants to learn

Evan Neely – Basketball – Butler
Leading the team in scoring, rebounding, steals, and blocks. She is also second on the team in assists. Evan scored a career high 23 points and grabbed 4 steals in the Aviators first win of the season against Piqua on 12/4/19.

Kyngston Collins – Indoor Track – Belmont
Top 5 Finish in 400m run at Tiffin Meet. Over 75 girls competed in the event.

Madeline Westbeld – Basketball – Kettering Fairmont
Leads the GWOC in scoring at 22.7 points per game. Also leads the GWOC in rebounds at 11.1 rebounds per game. She is also top 5 in assists and blocks. She has led Fairmont to a 6-1 start. Just reached 1000 points in a career.

Nyla Hampton – Basketball – Wayne
3 time all-GWOC team (would be 4 time this season) committed to play basketball at Bowling Green

Antaune Allen – Basketball – Belmont
Outstanding performance in the Classroom and on the Basketball court. Additional Stats: Grade point average: 3.1; Points per game average 19.1; 24pts vs Carroll; 17pts vs Cin. LaSalle; 17pts vs Cin. Withrow; Named to the All-Tournament Team at the Withrow Tipoff Showcase

Anthony Coppock – Basketball – Miamisburg
Anthony Coppock the Sophomore forward has been steady on the boards leading the GWOC in rebounding at 9.3 per game. Anthony has recorded three double doubles this season (all wins) including a 16 point 13 rebound performance against Springboro.

Carl Blanton Jr. – Basketball – Trotwood-Madison
Exceptional student athlete. A true leader on and off the court. Carl is a prominent part of the team and our school.

Corey Fries – Basketball – Miamisburg
Corey Fries Burg’s Senior captain helped lead the Vikings to 5 – 1 record to start the season. Leading a balanced team in scoring at 11 points per game Corey is shooting 54.2% from three including hitting 6 in a win at Northmont. In his last three games he’s shooting 14 – 26 from downtown.

Jacob Padilla – Wrestling – Wayne
Defending state champion, 3 time all-GWOC team (would be 4 time this season) committed to Wrestle at Ohio University

Jacob Philbeck – Wrestling – West Carrollton
Jacob dominated the competition at the Hamilton Township Classic going 4-0 with 4 pins en route to his 1st place finish. Jacob is a team captain and will be a 4 year letter winner for the Pirates. His hard working mentality and leadership skills inspire his peers to be their best on and off the mat.

JaSean Hart – Indoor Track – David H Ponitz
His race on Sunday moved him into 3rd in the State in the 800m. Competed in the 800m during the outdoor state last spring.

Jonah Mergler – Swimming – Northmont
Jonah Mergler is a junior swimmer at Northmont High School. He has earned two varsity letters during his freshman and sophomore swim seasons. Jonah has had a great start to his junior year by helping his teammates win the Wayne Invitational and Wildcat Invitational. Jonah recorded personal best times in the 200 yard Individual Medley along with the 100 yard backstroke. He placed 1st in the 100 yard backstroke and 2nd in the 200 Individual Medley at the Wildcat Invitational along with 1st place in the 400 yard freestyle relay. Jonah advanced to the District State meet both his freshman and sophomore seasons as a Thunderbolt and was GWOC Special Mention on the Boys 200 yard Medley Relay last year.

Jordan Pettigrew – Basketball, Soccer, Track – David H Ponitz
Big game of the season, came against Columbus South: 30 points, 6 assists, 7 steals, in a win.

Logan Hoskins – Wrestling – Butler
Earned Most Outstanding Wrestler on 12/7 at the Golden Bear Invitational at Upper Arlington. Logan is also a team captain and 2 time state qualifier.

Nevan Snodgrass – Wrestling – Kettering Fairmont
Nevan finished 3rd at the Walsh Ironman, arguably the toughest high school tournament in the country. He is now a 2x Ironman. Additional Stats: 3rd place finisher. 3x Ohio Division I State Placer (4th-4th-3rd); 2x Ironman Placer (3rd-3rd); Nationally-ranked top 10; 3x Conference Champion; 3x Sectional Champion; 2x District Champion; 118-17 Career Record (through 12/14/19).
